Kaolin induced model of paw inflammation
The kaolin-induced paw inflammation model is a well-established, reproducible method for evaluating the efficacy of anti-inflammatory and analgesic compounds in companion animals. By inducing localized, transient inflammation through subcutaneous kaolin injection, this model allows for the assessment of both acute and sustained drug effects on pain, swelling, and functional impairment. Suitable for cats, it provides a sensitive platform for testing novel analgesics, and other anti-inflammatory therapeutics.
