Marble Burying Test
The marble burying (MB) test is a robust and sensitive method used to measure compulsive-like and anxiety-related behaviour in rodents. In the MB test, twenty marbles are placed on the surface of clean bedding. The number of marbles buried in a 30-minute session is assessed by investigators blinded to treatment or subject status. Administration of anxiolytics has been shown to result in a significant reduction in the number of marbles buried, confirming their anti-anxiolytic effect.
